Michael Watson, Managing Director of Stagecoach South West, explained: “Last year was the first time we operated Boxing Day services, focusing on Exeter.

"We’ve taken on board what we’ve learned to offer an improved service this year to help meet our customers’ needs. This includes introducing special timetables on the 57 from Exmouth and Hop12 in Torbay in order to provide more connections.

"I hope these services prove even more popular this year and that we can continue to build on them in years to come.”

Route 57 provides connections between Brixington, Exmouth, Lympstone, Topsham, Countess Wear and Exeter, whilst route 12 connects Brixham, Paignton, Torquay, Kingskerswell and Newton Abbot. Normal fares will apply on all of the services.

An adult return on the Red Park & Ride is £2.40 or, for £5.90, up to 5 people can travel on a group return. For customers travelling with Exeter an Exeter Dayrider is only £3.60, for those travelling from Crediton an Exeter Dayrider Plus is £5.50 and for those coming from Exmouth an adult Explorer is £7.50. In Torbay a Torbay Dayrider costs just £4.90 and can be used right across the Bay and as far as Newton Abbot. £1 child ‘add on’ tickets are also available - up to 3 children can be ‘added on’ per full fare paying adult1.

As well as the Boxing Day buses Stagecoach will operate a Saturday service on weekdays across the holiday period, except for Christmas Day and New Years' Day when they will be closed. Buses will finish at around 8pm on both Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.

In the run up to Christmas, the Red and Green Park & Ride services operate extended hours every late night Thursday, with the last services departing the city centre at 2210 (Red) and 2200 (Green). At the weekends, all three Park & Ride sites are open on Saturdays and have extra buses running until the last services depart the city centre. On Sundays only the Red Park & Ride operates. Most Ex-citi routes run late into the evening 7 days a week with last services departing from the city centre after 2300 Mondays to Saturdays and between 2200 and 2300 on Sundays. Passengers travelling to Broadclyst, Cullompton, Exminster, Dawlish, Topsham and Exmouth can also catch last buses from the bus station after 2300 Mondays to Saturdays.
