Tarka line reopens albeit with speed restrictions
The Tarka Line between Exeter St Davids and Barnstaple, which was closed after severe flooding last month between Crediton and Barnstaple, has today re-opened with temporary 20mph speed restrictions at the Portsmouth Arms and Chapelton areas, adding four minutes to journeys.
A revised First Great Western timetable will operate to allow for the time increase, Network Rail said.
The Tarka line runs for 39 miles (63km) between Exeter and Barnstaple.
