Two lorries involved in collision on the A30 near Okehampton

Update at 12pm: Road is now fully open.

Reported earlier today: One lane remains closed on the A30 near Okehampton after two lorries collided at around 6.10am on Thursday 10 October.

The drivers of both drivers were taken to hospital; both are believed to have leg injuries which are not thought to be life threatening or life changing.

The collision occurred between the B3260 turning and Sourton Cross, westbound. Police say the recovery of the vehicles is underway.

A white Scania HGV registered to Lanarkshire and red Renault HGV registered to Newton Abbot were the vehicles involved.

Lane one remains closed but lane two is open, though police warn it may need to be closed for a short time to assist the recovery.

Severe delays and traffic queues are being experienced.
