Unfortunate Situations Exclusive To Women
As women, you experience a lot of day to day situations that are exclusive to your gender. Men could never comprehend the amount you put up with on a daily basis. Some are good, while some are bad. That is just the way life is sometimes. It can be unfortunate, as stated, but it is good to educate everyone on what these situations are.
For men, they do not always think about how their actions affect women. Even for other women, it is good to be conscious of what other girls go through, to help them. But all in all, the most important step is knowing what kinds of situations that women have to deal with. That is the point of this list, to educate and hopefully find solutions.
Periods
It’s nature's way of telling you that you have now blossomed into a child-bearing woman. The body is a wonderful thing, with so many complex processes going on all the time. Unfortunately, there are also a lot of not so great processes. The period, the time of the month, aunt flow, whatever you want to call it, is one of those unfortunate, woman-specific issues. It can lead to stains in underwear, or even in pants, which can be a terribly embarrassing event. It’s a must to always have an extra pair of underwear and pads with you, for unexpected events like this. Luckily, there are now a lot of period proof options for women of all ages and sizes. These underwear options can help reduce the stress of worrying about your time of the month resulting in an accident that embarrasses you while out and about.
Walking Alone at Night
In a darker turn of events, women fear walking home alone at night for obvious reasons. This is a situation that many, if not all, men are not concerned with which is unfortunate because they do not think about how scary it can be for you. It really limits how much freedom women can have at certain times of the day when they feel unsafe or unsure in certain areas of their city. The best solution is to always carry some kind of simple self-protection. Some women carry whistles, to help draw attention, while some women carry mace or other more physical deterrents. Now, of course, your safety is key, but make sure that if you do carry anything in your purse, that it is legal.
Cat-Calling
Men sometimes enjoy the subtle remarks that they get on their appearance while walking in public past a group of girls. On the other hand, women do not enjoy it as much. This is a nuisance because groups of guys can get vulgar with their choice of flirtation. While it might seem harmless to them, it can be pretty off-putting, or even scary, depending on the situation. Not all guys are going to have the proper manners to tell their friends to knock it off or refrain from whistling or making gross comments. The best we can do is educate men on why this is wrong, and hopefully, they learn from it and pass it on.
Feminine Odor
We come back to the body once again, and all of its wonderful processes. Feminine odor originates from the “sensitive” area of the body. This smell is a natural thing, so do not worry if you think it is unnatural. It is just a part of the body's function to create discharge or scents. Sweat happens to everyone, and it can happen down there too. The smell can be stronger than some people like, which is why there are a lot of soaps and washes that can help reduce the smell and control the pH balance of your private parts to keep them clean. It is also recommended to not wear the same underwear for too long, and wash them often.
Breaking a Heel
High heels are wonderful. They can tie together an entire outfit, and they provide a statement piece for people to compliment you on. The problem is that heels can often break, especially stiletto or other thin heeled shoes. This is definitely a woman problem, but you can keep adhesive in your purse or a backup pair of flats just in case.
As you can see, or you may have probably already known, women deal with a lot of specific issues that men do not notice. These issues can be scary, or they can just be a little bit embarrassing, but they are all specific to women. Knowing how to help your fellow girl, or educate guys on what these situations are like, can really improve everyone’s treatment of one another to make these incidents less unfortunate.
