Video promotes Exeter as a city to invest in
Recognising the importance of attracting investment to Exeter to create much needed employment, the City Council recently commissioned Three S Films to produce a video encouraging businesses to relocate to the city.
This video was launched to local businesses at a special showing on Wednesday 27 November 2013. The city has a good record in attracting new businesses to the city including the Met Office but in view of the economic climate and ongoing reduction in employment in the public sector there is no room for complacency.
This video has been uploaded on YouTube for the entire world to see. It can also be viewed on the city council’s websites: www.exeter.gov.uk and www.investinexeter.co.uk and will be promoted through social media. In addition, this video will support Exeter and Devon businesses when on International or UK trade visits.
Exeter has a great deal to offer a relocating business both in terms of choice of premises, business support and a lifestyle to attract business owners and employees. The City Council is very pleased that the video has captured the city’s strengths. Representatives of the successful local businesses included in the video like Kate Connock of John Lewis, Michael Caines of Abode Hotels, Vanessa Cobb of ATASS as well as Professor Sir Steve Smith of University of Exeter tell the story with genuine enthusiasm.
Exeter City Council’s Leader, Cllr Peter Edwards, who commissioned the film, said: “This commitment demonstrates the true partnership between public and private sectors which has helped the city to be so successful to date. We wanted a video that really captured the spirit of a growing, vibrant city and this video has done that splendidly.’’
The video can already chalk up its first success as the Cornish film production company of Three S Films has decided to set up a base in Exeter. There can be no better testament that Exeter is the ideal location for forward thinking businesses.
For Three S Films this pro-business approach has been a major draw.
Three S Films Company Director Mitch Adams said: “Working on shoots, we often need to work with the local authority. Exeter City Council have always been extremely accommodating. It is little things like that that give us the confidence to set up in Exeter.”
The video will be available to view on Youtube from Thursday at
