Youngsters get the Chance to Dance
Children from DanSci Dance Studio aged 3-12 years old had their first taste of the limelight last weekend.
Thanks to sponsorship from Hunters Estate agency on South Street, Exeter the youngsters received free classes in the professional facilities of DanSci Dance Studio as well as a new uniform.
Performing at the Northcott theatre at the annual Chance to Dance production was a dream come true for many of the children who have only recently started dancing this summer. Chance to Dance provides a non-competitive opportunity for adults and children to experience performing on a professional stage.
Director of DanSci Dance Studio; Ava Barron Thomas said ‘It was an absolute delight watching these children, some of whom had never even been to a theatre let alone stood on a stage before. They have learnt so much in the last few weeks about dedication, commitment and team work. Skills which reach much further than the dance studio. We would like to thank Norma-Lawrie-Hutchings Director of Chance to Dance for providing us with this opportunity and Anthony Thomas of Hunters for making the dream a realisation for many.’
They may not have their next performance lined up but as a credited Learning destination for the Children’s University, the children of DanSci youth classes will be working hard each week towards nationally recognised awards with the help of Hunters.
