The smart brand, once synonymous with tiny city cars, has embarked on a bold new direction in electric driving. The smart #5, their largest vehicle ever, is a testament to this transformation. It's a sleek, tech-laden SUV that challenges traditional notions of what a smart car can be.

Powerful Performance, Rapid Charging

Despite its larger size, the #5 promises impressive performance. Its 800-volt architecture enables rapid charging, allowing you to recharge from 10% to 80% in just 15 minutes. While specific powertrain details are still under wraps, smart claims a range of up to 740 km on a single charge.

Tech-Packed Interior with AI

The #5's interior is a digital haven, boasting a trio of screens: a 10.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 13-inch central infotainment display, and a 25.6-inch augmented reality head-up display. The AI-powered voice assistant adds another layer of convenience, allowing you to control various vehicle functions with simple voice commands.

A Luxurious and Versatile Cabin

The #5's cabin is a blend of luxury and practicality. The zero-gravity seats offer unparalleled comfort, while the versatile seating arrangement allows you to transform the interior into a spacious lounge or even a makeshift bed. The built-in projector and portable speaker add a touch of entertainment, making it the perfect vehicle for road trips and outdoor adventures.

A Global Launch, except for the US

While the smart #5 is set to make waves in Europe and China, it seems it won't be coming to the US market. This is a strategic decision by the brand as it focuses on expanding its presence in these key regions.

The smart #5 is due to arrive in Europe from the start of next year, so hopefully it will make it to the UK at a similar time. There’s no word yet on pricing, but the #5 is a step up in both size and technology from the #3, so don’t expect any change from £40,000.

The smart #5 is a significant upgrade from the #3, offering a more spacious interior, advanced technology features, and potentially a more powerful electric motor. While the exact specifications for the UK market are yet to be confirmed, it's likely that the #5 will be positioned as a premium electric SUV, competing with the likes of the Tesla Model Y and the Ford Mustang Mach-E.

With its stylish design, impressive range, and cutting-edge features, the smart #5 has the potential to shake up the UK electric vehicle market. It will be interesting to see how it fares against established rivals and whether it can capture the hearts of British drivers.
