Lisa Singleton in Semi-Finals of Venus Devon Business Awards

Lisa Singleton, the owner of graphic design company, Zebra Design, is thrilled to have been nominated for the Venus Awards Devon in the category of Business Mother and Home-Based Business and is over the moon to have reached the semi-finals in both categories.

The Venus Awards were founded in Brighton by Tara Howard, Managing Director of Langtry Manor Hotels to celebrate and recognise the growing number of women in business and take place currently in Dorset, Southampton, Brighton and Devon but will soon by expanding to Bristol and Birmingam. 

Zebra Design was started in 2010 by busy mother of two, Lisa Singleton, who had been designing since graduating from university with a Graphic Design degree in 1995. With a handful of clients, a two-year-old and another son just starting school, Lisa took the plunge and set up her own business. Lisa says, "Starting Zebra Design was the best thing I ever did and it is wonderful to be able to fit my work around my two children while ensuring my clients are happy and well looked after. Being passionate and enthusiastic about your career, to love what you do and to have clients returning again and again, keeps me focused on growing the business and providing the very best service I can".

Zebra Design now has a loyal client base of almost 30 customers and offers graphic design for print, logos and branding along with marketing material accompanied by a very personal and friendly approach. "Clients seem to love working with me, and I try and make the whole process fun, and the other reason they return is the fact that if an advert needs to be in a publication that evening, or first thing the next morning, Zebra Design always delivers. It is that flexibility and quality of design that is key to the success of the business".

The Home-Based Business category is sponsored by NatWest and the Business Mother category, by HeartFM, with the finalists being announced on 10 July at The Magdalen Chapter in Exeter. The Venus Awards ceremony will be held on 5th September at Exeter University and promises to be a wonderful evening celebrating women in business in Devon.
