River Cottage launch their search for the ‘River Cottage Rising Star 2013’
The River Cottage Rising Star 2013 competition has launched to give one lucky individual the best possible start to their career. River Cottage is looking for one inspirational character to become the face of its new Young Chef Apprenticeship Scheme and gain a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to secure 12 months employment working with the team at River Cottage HQ, Park Farm.
River Cottage Rising Star 2013 will follow the learning journey that the apprentice embarks on at River Cottage HQ, and will demonstrate through a number of media channels how their culinary skills are improving, with the aim to influence other young people in the South West to join similar programmes.
With content being distributed through all of the River Cottage social media platforms the exposure of the ‘Rising Star’ will be maximised, propelling the most dedicated and passionate individual into the spotlight.
The competition requires each willing entrant to upload a video to Youtube which demonstrates their love of food and ambition to become a chef. The eight videos with the most ‘likes’ and two River Cottage selected wildcards will go through to the live hang-outs with esteemed judges Gill Meller, Steven Lamb and Stef Smith.
The five that impress will then join the team at Park Farm where they will participate in a live culinary battle with the other contestants to become the River Cottage Rising Star 2013.The competition is open to all that apply for a place on the Young Chef Apprenticeship Scheme.
