Contemporary American-style diner officially opens today
RUBY Modern Diner, which officially opened its doors to the public today, is the new kid on the block in terms of Exeter's burgeoning restaurant scene. Owners Erin Allgrove and Dicky Harrison have breathed fresh life into 74 Queen Street, transforming this prominent Grade II Listed building into an American-style diner with a modern twist.
If the decor does not draw in the crowds, the food certainly will - ranging from the diner's speciality Hot Salt Beef served in a bagel to pulled pork to a range of mouthwatering hamburgers made from Ruby red beef from a mid-Devon farm. And vegetarians are catered for too, with a delicious falafel and halloumi burger and a 'Beany' burger on the menu.
The diner was launched in style on Friday 25th January, with guests from local businesses, Chiefs rugby players and Exeter's MP Ben Bradshaw there to sample the food and atmosphere.
Erin told The Exeter Daily, "We're so pleased to finally open the doors! We've had great turnout this evening, it's been lovely to see people from all corners of the city. The team have done a fantastic job this evening serving sliders, mini waffles and other delicious treats! We're excited to offer lots of our favourite finds from across the South West including Sandford Orchards cider, Otter Valley ice cream and of course our signature Ruby Red hamburgers. Most of all we can't wait to hear what the people of Exeter think of RUBY."
As well as the option of dining in the restaurant, RUBY is also set to offer a take-away service.
