Sandy Park was the venue for The 2013 Lord’s Taverners Annual Christmas Dinner in December.

With tickets selling out in a day, 420 guests attended to listen to Chris Cowdrey, President of The Lord’s Taverners, and comedian Ian Irving.

Simon Harding, Chairman of the Lord’s Taverners, Devon and Cornwall Region said: “I was delighted to see that once again The Lord’s Taverners Annual Christmas Lunches in Exeter and Plymouth were very special and enjoyable events.

"Over 800  people enjoyed two great speakers and helped us to raise a record sum of over £65,000 which will help give disadvantaged and disabled children a 'sporting chance' in life.

"In addition the region said a fond farewell to Nicholas Parsons who retired after 10 years as President of the Devon and Cornwall region. However, we were delighted to see that Nicholas subsequently celebrated the award of a CBE in the New Year’s Honours List for his charitable work.”
