Three pupils from Exeter School have been selected for the England Under 18 hockey squad this week.

Upper sixth former Tom Poustie joins the squad for his second year along with Lower Sixth Formers Harry Skinner and Will Marsh.

They will train over the next few months as part of a squad of 24 players at the Lilleshall National Sports Centre in Shropshire, in preparation for international tournaments held in Germany and Spain at Easter and in July.

Exeter School Hockey Performance Coach, Mr Graham Skinner, said these three boys have worked exceedingly hard to earn this fantastic achievement. "Learning the game from a very young age has seen them develop their skills rapidly and reach this level of performance. Along with Paddy Poustie, who narrowly missed the selection, the school is extremely proud of all the boys and we wish them success in their forthcoming international matches."

Exeter School recently retained the Under 16 Boys' Indoor Hockey National title and indoor hockey will remain a focus for the forthcoming seasons.

Exeter School is committed to developing hockey skills in boys and girls throughout the age groups, offering a strength and conditioning fitness programme alongside team and individual skills sessions held in the newly extended fitness room, sports halls and on the astro turf pitch.
