Sports have been gripping the world since before we can remember. There is something exciting about supporting a team or a player and watching them work hard each year, for them to win or come close to winning the sport that they excel in. Take football as an example, this year it has been thriving with the premier league being a very close competition - Will Liverpool, Man City or Arsenal win the league this year? If you are a sports fan, it’s hard not to appreciate a season where there’s three teams that can win it.

Darts is another sport that has been thriving this year and so too has tennis! Whether you are into your sports and play, simply enjoy watching them on TV, or are looking for a new hobby, there’s something for you. Perhaps you’ve found friends who love sports that you initially bonded with through other hobbies. This might have been bingo where you shared codes like the MrQ Promo Code and now want to watch a sports game or join a team. No matter the reason, below we have put together our guide on 3 sports that are thriving in 2024.

Football

This year is an exciting time for football. As we mentioned above, the Premier League is thriving with three teams having a chance of lifting the trophy. Man City won it last year (the previous three seasons to be precise) and are in with a chance of winning it for the fourth time. Arsenal haven’t won the league for over 10 years, whilst Liverpool won it back in 2020. With only a few games left, it’s not long until we will know who the champion of 2024 is.

Darts

Darts isn’t the most popular sport out of all the sports you can play - it’s still great fun though - but since Luke Littler’s success - he got to the final of the world championships at the age of 16! It’s risen in popularity, with many people taking the sport up. Dart’s is fun to watch on TV, has a great atmosphere when watching it live and it’s great for your mental health if you play it yourself - what’s not to love about the sport?

Tennis

A sport that thrives most years is tennis. For those who enjoy playing and watching tennis, there are various major tournaments throughout the year which are based in different countries, attracting many eyes to the sport. Wimbledon takes place in the UK, the US Open in America and the Australian Open is played in Melbourne as well as a few other majors. At the moment the world's number one is Novak Djokovic but Carlos Alcaraz who is the youngest world No. 1 (19 years, 4 months) is fighting his way to be number one again.

There are so many sports that are currently thriving, it’s hard to choose which the top three are. What sports are you currently enjoying watching? Do you enjoy or take part in any of the three sports we have mentioned above? Are there any sports you think that we should be adding to our list? Let us know in the comment box below.
