College hockey players selected for national hockey team
Bridgwater College students Karl Trunks and Liam Hedaux recently attended a British Colleges’ National training camp after both being selected to represent the national hockey team.
As part of the training camp, the duo represented England in games against Lincoln University and Birmingham University, in preparation for fixtures against the home nations.
Karl is studying the Level 3 Engineering Apprenticeship and plays hockey at Taunton Vale Club, whilst Liam is studying Level 3 Sport and Exercise Science and plays hockey at ISCA club in Exeter.
Liam, formerly of Chilton Trinity Technology College said, “I'm extremely pleased to make the team and have already played in two games, scoring on my debut. I’m hoping that playing for British Colleges will help and challenge me to improve my own personal skills and tactical awareness.”
Sheila Burridge, Team BC Hockey Head Coach said, “The hockey coaching staff at Bridgwater College are both pleased and proud to see Liam and Karl representing the national squad. Their hockey skills and game performance will undoubtedly be improved as they are challenged at a higher level.”
