Exeter City squander 2 goal lead

STEVENAGE twice came from behind to hold Exeter City to a point in front of the Sky cameras at St James Park.

Exeter City manager Paul Tisdale made six changes to the Exeter City line-up for the televised visit of Stevenage, with Jamie McAllister making a welcome return to the side after injury. Clinton Morrison, Matt Oakley, David Noble, Lee Holmes and Christian Ribeiro were the other players to come in.

After Clinton Morrison shot wide in the opening seconds, it was just four minutes into the game that Lee Holmes crossed for David Wheeler to head City in front. But the second goal sent the home crowd into absolute delirium. Wheeler was involved again; it was his cross out from the right side that sailed over for Clinton Morrison to bicycle kick his first City goal in wonderful style.

Stevenage would pull one back in equally good fashion five minutes before half-time - Dean Parrett curled a free-kick over the wall into the top corner.
