Exeter City welcome Bournemouth

Once again we will welcome Premier League opposition to St James Park as part of our pre-season fixture programme – this time it is the top-tier’s newest members, AFC Bournemouth, who will provide the opposition.

The Cherries were visibly flourishing when they visited the Park in the Capital One Cup in the early stages of last season – that was just the beginning of a terrific campaign for the Dorset club, who eventually lifted the Sky Bet Championship title.

Their pre-season schedule is still in its earlier stages, with just a single fixture played so far compared to Exeter’s three.  That came across the Atlantic, and Eddie Howe’s men were 4-1 victors at Philadelphia Union.

But with new recruit on display for both sides, it looks set to be an entertaining and exciting fixture at the Park.
