Exeter students train with Bristol Ladies Rugby Club
Seventy-five female students from Exeter College were treated to a training session with the Bristol Ladies Rugby Team, as part of Tyrrells’ ongoing initiative to inspire more girls to get into rugby.
Poppy Leitch, Caity Mattinson and Clara Nielson, who play for Bristol Ladies and England, hosted the workshop alongside Tyrrells, coaching and supporting students on Monday evening.
The workshop, organised by Tyrrells and the Rugby Football Union (RFU) and held at the college’s Exwick Sports Hub, was made up of a number of different activities started with the chance to pose for pictures, followed by a Q&A session with the Ladies Rugby Team to ask questions about professional rugby.
After the Q&A session there was the chance to warm up followed by the exciting rugby match itself.
Sarah Lawson, Marketing Manager at Tyrrells Potato Crisps, added: “As the Official Crisp of England Rugby and Title Partner of Tyrrells Premier 15s, it’s Tyrrells’ mission to continually inspire and support young women to play rugby.
“We’re hosting workshops across the country to inspire girls nationwide. These students are the future of female rugby – and we’re glad we can help them achieve their dreams.”
