All the latest golf news from Exeter Golf and Country Club, including the DCGU Palairet Memorial Trophy, Wednesday Stableford, Bradley Rowe Order of Merit and the Ladies Invitation to Men.

DCGU Palairet Memorial Trophy

Congratulations to Captain Ray and his Palairet side who have got through to the fourth round by beating Dainton park at Torquay golf club last Sunday.
In what proved to be a thrilling contest, Exeter scraped through 3 – 2 with the deciding game finishing on the last.
Exeter GCC will now face Holsworthy at Tavistock on Sunday 27 July. Supporters are most welcome

Wednesday Stableford

Results

Division 1 (0-9): 1 Martyn Luxton 36 points, 2 Peter Money 36, 3 Martin Aggett 35.
Division 2 (10-14): 1 Kennie Knowles 37, 2 Aaron Lee 36, 3 Jim Reynolds 34.
Division 3 (15-19): 1 John Bamford 40, 2 Les Screen 36, 3 John Hayman 34.
Division 4 (20-28): 1 Alistair Garden 39, 2 Rob Strachan 36, 3 John Spiller 35.

Bradley Rowe

The Bradley Rowe Order of Merit competition was completed on Saturday with 150 players competing in the fifth event from 8 of the Order of Merit.

Early starter, George Robinson went round in a fine gross 67, nett 64 to win the overall event.

On a day of low scoring, the CSS remained at 70.

Divisional winners as follows:

Division 1 (0-9): 1 George Robinson 67 gross, 3 handicap, 64 nett; 2 Mark Crouch 72, 7, 65; 3 Phil Mills 74, 8, 66.
Division 2 (10-14): 1 Dave Baitup 76, 12, 64; 2 Mark Hawkesby 76, 11, 65; 3 James McMurdo 76, 11, 65.
Division 3 (15-19): 1 Alex Boulton 88, 19, 69; 2 Mike Brown-King 87, 18, 69; 3  David Robinson 89, 19, 70.
Division 4 (20-28): 1 George Roberts 90, 22, 68; 2 Rob Strachan 92, 23, 69; 3 David Thomas 95, 24, 71.

Ladies Invitation to Men

The annual invitation from the Ladies to the Men took place this past Sunday.
Over 70 players enjoyed a course in great condition and decent weather.
The Captain partnership of Ray Banfield and Christine Clark won with 46 points which was enough for a three shot win over Gill Newbery and Martin McBain, and Christine Cantlon and Simon Quantick
