SW7s heads for Exeter

How do you feel about being part of ‘Sevens Heaven’ this summer?

Well, the opportunity is there for teams to experience the ultimate tournament at one of the 12 selected Rugby World Cup venues.

Today, marks the launch of the inaugural SW7s, which will take place over the weekend of July 10-12 here in Exeter.

Backed by both the Rugby Football Union and Aviva Premiership side Exeter Chiefs, the new two-day tournament will bring together not only teams love for one of the best sports in the world, but at the same time allow them to take in what promises to be an action-packed weekend in the heart of the Westcountry.

Running alongside the final leg of the European Grand Prix Sevens Series at Sandy Park, the SW7s is open to all and will offer both Elite and Social teams the chance to battle it out for glory at the home of the region’s Premier Rugby Club.

As well as the SW7s and European GP Sevens action, players can look forward to a host of other off-field activities, including live bands and DJs; Festival Village, Sports and additional entertainment.

Working in conjunction with a number of leading partners, prize-money on offer for the Elite Men’s competition is £250 cash, plus a £150 Bar Tab; whilst the Elite Women’s prize is £100 cash, plus £150 Bar Tab.

With regular and free shuttle services running from accommodation areas to the playing venues, the SW7s really is the event for you this summer.
