"We should have done better" admits Tisdale after defeat
City's poor recent run of results continued as they succumbed to a 3-0 defeat at the hands of a clinical Northampton Town side at Sixfields this afternoon, writes Andrew Morris.
Northampton's powerful and direct approach triumphed over City's short passing game in a match littered with niggly fouls and yellow cards.
Positives for City were the valuable game time secured by Bennett, Gow and Sercombe. Fans will be hoping that all three are in contention for the visit of Chesterfield next Saturday where Tisdale's side will be searching for an improvement on today's disappointing result.
Exeter City manager Paul Tisdale told BBC Radio Devon: "Watching the game I still think we could have got a result, but essentially its down to goals and goals conceded and we certainly came on the wrong side of that.
"We can't rely on having to score two or three to get a result. I have no grudge to bear at all with the way we passed it and attacked, we played our game.
"It's about the goals we conceded today, more so than the goals we could have scored. We should've done better defensively."
