Racegoers who attend either of Exeter Racecourse’s meetings on 10 and 22 October could become a racehorse owner, thanks to an exclusive partnership with leading trainer Jeremy Scott.

The Devon track has teamed up with the Somerset-based trainer to offer everyone who pre-books to attend either meeting the chance to win a share in racehorse. Mixing with fellow racing folk in the owners’ and trainers’ bar, standing in the parade ring while the horse parades and sharing a glass of champagne with fellow owners every time the horse runs will be par for the course for the lucky winner as well as yard visits and the chance to make new friends.

Exeter’s general manager Tim Darby said: “It’s a fantastic opportunity to get involved in racehorse ownership with one of the most progressive trainers in the country and we are very grateful to Jeremy for enabling this to happen.”

Scott added: “It’s a brilliant initiative and we are delighted to be able to give someone the chance to have a taste of owning a racehorse. Exeter is a fantastic course and I’ve had more winners there than at any other. With a bit of luck, I hope the racehorse we are putting forward for the competition will run there too.”

The offer is open to everyone who pre-books tickets to attend either of the course’s October meetings, on October 10 and 22, and the winner will be drawn at the second meeting.

The winner will become part of the Jeremy Scott Racing Club, which lasts from November 1, 2013 until November 1, 2014 and will be eligible for a pair of owners and trainers’ tickets each time the horse runs, and visits to the yard on club days. All prize money won will be put back into the racing club for the purchase of future racehorses.

Scott’s stable jockey Nick Scholfield who is also Exeter Racecourse’s ambassador for the forthcoming season, said: “It’s great that Exeter and Jeremy have teamed up to give someone the chance to get involved in racehorse ownership and I’m very much looking forward to meeting them in the paddock before the race if I happen to be riding that day.”

To pre-book tickets, visit www.exeter-racecourse.co.uk or call the ticket hotline on 08445 793005. The first race is off at 2.20pm. Children aged 17 and under race free.

Tickets cost from £13 (if booked in advance).  A free bus leaves Exeter St David’s at 12.40pm and the Bus & Coach Station 12.55pm, returning half an hour after the last race.
