Fourth Base Celebrates EP Launch
I speak to local Torquay boys; Jed Tuner, 16, Max Taylor, 17, and Ollie Holdup, 15, on their venture of becoming big in the bay. Fourth base is a new upcoming alternative three piece rock band with plenty of talent to express; they started off busking around the town, then playing at a few events and now they have a line-up of their own gigs. The band recently had their radio debut on ‘Rivera FM’ a local online radio station for Torbay where they played a few of their original songs from their brand new EP.
Here is what the band has to say:
Tell me about your band and what you have done so far?
“We practice in a garage, which our neighbours really appreciate. We currently have done a few sessions for an online digital magazine called ‘Hit the Floor’.’’
Where do you see yourself in the future?
“We inspire to go further out than Torquay, and would love to venture out to gigs in Exeter. We all enjoy writing music and what favours us is people enjoying our music.”
What inspires you?
Guitarist Jed followed saying “When we see people enjoying it, it makes us feel good about what we do.”
Max the base guitarist of the band says he likes to ‘’get a feel for other peoples music and in cooperate it into his own’’.
Tell me about your new EP?
“Our new EP (extended play) consists of our first ever song s wrote by our band called ‘Control’ and ‘Drummer Boy’ and of course plenty of new content. It is all our own original material which makes this first CD special to us.”
