The University of Exeter has today announced a new partnership with international NGO, Jusoor, to welcome Syrian students on funded scholarships through the university’s Green Futures Scholarships.

Jusoor works to improve and support education opportunities for Syrian students. Only 6% of refugees globally are in higher education and only 5% percent of Syrian refugee children are in high school. Jusoor’s Scholarship Program builds bridges between the potential of young Syrians and opportunities for further education.

A multidisciplinary team of students pursuing their undergraduate degree recently achieved two prestigious awards in the international Genetically Engineered Machines (iGEM) competition.

The iGEM competition challenges student teams to design new biological systems and operate them in living cells using an engineering approach.

Carpentry apprentice, Emily Baker, has urged women to consider a career in construction as she reflects on an action-packed year working for Persimmon Homes.

Emily, an apprentice with the company’s Cornwall and West Devon business, joined the business last autumn and is working on the Trevethan Meadows site in Liskeard while studying at City College Plymouth.

Talented twins whose music is championed by Coldplay have graduated from the same course, at the same university, on the same day.

Theo and Bertie Pedrick decided to study together at the University of Exeter so they could pursue their music career.
