Call for witnesses after a fatal road traffic collision on the A38
Update: The Police have renewed their appeal for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
The dark-coloured Volvo left the Plymouth-bound carriageway between the Ivybridge offslip and Lee Mill.
Officers would like anyone who may be able to comment on the manner of driving of this car prior to the collision to contact them on 101, quoting log number 0631 of 220313.
Previously reported: Devon and Cornwall Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision on the A38 at Westlake near Ivybridge.
The collision happened in poor weather at around 5.45pm on Friday 22 March 2013 when a blue Volvo S60 left the road on its nearside via a lay-by. It continued through a fence and hedgerow before coming to rest some distance into a waterlogged field.
The front seat passenger of the car, a 76-year-old man died at the scene.
The driver, a woman in her sixties, was conveyed to Derriford Hospital, Plymouth, and released following treatment for minor injuries.
Both casualties are from Wiltshire.
One lane of the A38 and the Westlake lay-by were closed for some time in order to protect the scene.
