Morag Rowse, the activities organiser at Beaconville Nursing Home in Ivybridge, South Devon, has been confirmed as one of just three finalists in the Employee of the Year category at this year’s Devon Venus Women in Business Awards, sponsored by The Exeter daily.

There were over 50 entrants in the category, which were whittled down to 10 before members of the public were asked to vote.

There was huge support for Morag, who organises activities for patients, produces the home’s publication the Beaconville Times and manages the Friends of Beaconville – a group dedicated to raising funds to improve the lives of dementia sufferers. Morag will this week attend a gala dinner at Exeter University on 5 September, where the overall winner will be announced.

She said: "I was nominated by Beaconville manager, Anne Taylor and I’m very pleased to have made the final three and I'm looking forward to 5 September to hear the results.

"Even if I don’t win, I'm delighted to have got this far."
