Each year Darts Farm in Topsham grows a beautiful field of sunflowers for customers to pick in return for a donation to Hospiscare. This year the fantastic weather has made for a bumper crop, allowing Darts Farm to raise more money than ever before for the local charity.

So far, over £2,600 has been raised for Hospiscare and there are still plenty of sunflowers left for people to pick or to buy in store. For a map of the farm and instructions on how to pick your own, please visit the farm shop.

Once the sunflowers die down, they are left in the field as feed for local birds. The high energy seeds attract a variety of birds and makes for some great bird watching during late September and October.

Throughout the autumn and winter you can also view a wide variety of wading birds at the Darts Farm bird hide and wetlands.
