Exeter School future cricket star selected for England Development Programme
An Exeter School pupil has been selected to join the England Development Programme for Under 16 Cricket.
Upper Fifth Exeter School pupil Ben Green, who has just returned from a stint as captain of the South and West U15 cricket team for the Bunbury Festival, was notified of the honour by David Graveney, a leading figure in English cricket and former chairman of the England Test selectors.
Ben is one of just ten boys nationally to be selected for the England Development Programme. It will involve travelling to the University of Loughborough throughout the year for training camps as a well as a three-week tour to Sri Lanka in April 2014.
Following a successful Bunbury Festival where Ben won the awards for the ‘Best All Rounder’ and the award for ‘The Most Sporting Moment’, there has been interest in the Exeter School boy from several counties.
Ben has decided to join the Somerset Cricket Academy, which will involve mid-week and Sunday training throughout the winter.
Congratulations to Ben and we wish you every success in your future in cricket.
