The Arts & Culture Forum Lecture Series present an evening with Bob Harris as he talks about his exciting and extensive career in the world of music and broadcasting.

Bob's depth of understanding of popular music is colossal and as a voice on the radio and television he is a legendary icon. Possibly better known as 'Whispering' Bob Harris, Bob is a legendary music presenter and broadcaster.

In 2011 he was rewarded with an OBE in the Queens Honours list for his 'services to music broadcasting'. He is well-known for hosting the long running BBC2 music show The Old Grey Whistle Test. The show was seminal in its presentation of rock music as a serious endeavour.

Harris' long career in radio and television is also teamed with the skills of a journalist. Harris helped found Time Out magazine, as co-editor in 1968. In 2002 Harris became an original presenter on the newly-launched digital station BBC Radio 6 Music and continues to broadcast with the BBC on Radio 2 with the show Bob Harris Country which focuses on country, roots and Americana music.

Refreshments may be purchased before and after the event in the University's Forum building.

The talk will be followed by a Q&A session, after which Bob Harris will be available to sign books.

Tickets: £5, £3 students.
