Singer Charlotte joins the Skin Angels

Exeter based singer and songwriter Charlotte Ward, has joined local campaigning beauty therapists the Skin Angels, on their crusade to educate young people about looking after their skin.

Charlotte, who is 15 and has made it through to the national finals for the UK Open Mic competition, has become an ambassador for Skin Angels and will be working with the team to promote year round protection against the sun as well as talking to young people about techniques to help overcome common skin conditions such as acne.

Charlotte will performing outside Purity Boutique Spa, Cathedral Green on Thursday 19th December from 4.30pm and will be joined by the Skin Angels to launch their new collaboration.

Skin Angels was set up earlier this year by national award winner Purity Boutique Spa owner Mariam Badavi, with the aim of sharing knowledge with young people everywhere, enabling them to make informed choices about skin care and skin protection.

Mariam comments: “I am so excited that Charlotte is now an ambassador for Skin Angels. I am really passionate about educating people, both young and old, about skin protection and having Charlotte on board will certainly help us spread our important message.”

Charlotte comments: “I think the whole idea of Skin Angels is brilliant.  I’ve learnt so much about looking after my skin to prevent spots - every teenager needs a Skin Angel!   I’m really looking forward to being one of their ambassadors and I’ve even written a song to help promote the campaign.”

Charlotte joins Exeter Chief’s player Carl Rimmer, who is also supporting the Skin Angel's campaign.

Carl comments: “‘I am proud to be supporting the Skin Angels in their campaign to raise awareness about the dangers of the sun. As a rugby player I spend a lot of time outdoors and I know that harmful rays can damage the skin even on a cloudy day.”

The Skin Angels will be out and about in the new year visiting schools and colleges across Devon to raise awareness of the dangers of the sun and provide advice about problematic skin conditions.

The UK charity, Teenage Cancer Trust, is backing Mariam in her efforts.
