Christmas came early for Rowan McDowell when he recieved £100 worth of Britains Farm Toys after winning a competition organised by the National Farmers’ Union (NFU).

The NFU champions British farming and provides professional representation and services to its Farmer and Grower members.

Rowan, 7,from Morchard Bishop, won the Let’s Talk Farming contest by spotting all the Red Tractor logos hidden in a picture depicting some typical British produce.

Local NFU group secretary Jeremy Atkins presented Rowan with his prize at the NFU’s Crediton office.

The competition was staged as part of the NFU’s Let’s Talk Farming road show’s tour, which visits scores of shows and events across the country every year.

The Red Tractor logo on a pack is an easy-to-spot symbol of assurance that food has been farmed and produced to independently inspected standards.
