A recruitment initiative at the Cullompton depot of Gregory Distribution could see up to 20 new drivers joining the business which will help to fill current vacancies and launch a new, flexible drivers pool.

This is the first initiative of its kind for Gregory which sees it as an exciting opportunity to recruit professional drivers with the right attitude and approach for the company’s business needs.

Business Unit Director Darren Beaven said: “One part of the project is the driver recruitment day which is designed to enable us to identify and recruit new drivers for the pool to begin with and to fill any vacancies within the Cullompton full operation including Radial, Kay Transport and  the Spar Contract

“Our aims for the driver recruitment day are to recruit some really great people; to make it an event to remember and a real talking point for everybody involved and to help the launch of the drivers’ pool.

“We are targeting all drivers holding an LGV licence within our catchment area with young and newly qualified drivers being particularly welcome. Potential new drivers attending on the recruitment day will get a brief history of the company before meeting with drivers and other employees. They will then have a brief interview to assess if they would be a good fit for the business and we will then agree the next steps.”

Gregory has a history of employing local people and this initiative is another example of the business supporting the community.

The Cullompton Depot Driver Recruitment Day will take place between 10am and 3pm on Saturday 25 January 2014 at the Gregory Cullompton site (Kingsmill Industrial Estate Cullompton EX15 1BS).  Further information is available by contacting Gregory Distribution via email at driverday@gdl.uk.com
