Seven Exeter School pupils offered Oxbridge places
Exeter School is pleased to complete this year’s Oxbridge admissions process with the announcement that seven pupils have been offered places.
In the last five years, Exeter School has received 35 offers from Oxford and Cambridge colleges.
At Cambridge, Dan Armstrong has an offer to read History at Downing College, Jonty Bradley-Thrush has an offer to read Maths at Gonville and Caius College and Hector Newman has an offer to read Natural Sciences at Clare College.
Four members of Exeter School’s Upper Sixth have received offers from Oxford: Gwyneth Everson for Classics at St Hilda’s College, Tilly Gilbert for English at Lady Margaret Hall, Jack Palmer for Geography at Keble College and Michael van de Noort for Engineering at St Catherine’s College.
Deputy Head and Oxbridge coordinator, Mr Martin Hughes, said he was delighted with the news from Oxford and Cambridge offering places to these seven pupils across a range of subjects.
“The competition for places at these universities is now a truly global event and these successes have been earned by the pupils through their academic effort and commitment,” he said.
Exeter School has an excellent record of success in placing pupils in a range of leading universities. It carries out a guided programme of events throughout its two years of Sixth Form to prepare pupils for university interviews and future employment including specialist talks from universities and alumni, practice interview scheme, comprehensive careers evening, Oxbridge group, Medical Society, and two in-house university and careers advisers.
