The Day We Played Brazil Auditions Kick Off
People from all over Exeter gathered at St James’ Park yesterday as the first workshop auditions for the upcoming musical The Day We Played Brazil got underway.
Exeter Community Arts Project is looking for 120 people to be part of the project which is set to be the biggest cultural event in Exeter for many years.
Hopefuls as young as 11 took part in the workshop auditions which involved playing drama games, singing songs from the show, dancing, and acting parts of the script in large groups.
Kate Tyrrell, Producer of The Day We Played Brazil said: “It was great to hear the songs being sung and see the scenes come alive. It was also particularly moving to be at St James Park surrounded by the exhibition that told the same story and was the location for many of the scenes in the show.”
For anyone interested in being part of the project, further workshop auditions are due to take place on Tuesday 18th February, Wednesday 19th February, Thursday 20th February and Saturday 1st of March. No stage experience is necessary to take part, nor do participants have to be football fanatics; all that is needed is enthusiasm.
