The Exeter Daily salutes the workers who keep us safe

The Exeter Daily pays tribute to the emergncy crews who have done an incredible job in such testing conditions for the past few days.

Unlike some, not turning up for work is simpy not an option for the 999 staff who protect us 24/7.

Their jobs are difficult enough in normal circumstances without having to contend with the sort of conditions this ambulance crew faced on the A377 between Exeter and Crediton.

So we say thank you to them as well as everyone else who has battled against the elements on our behalf, including bus drivers, Environment Agency and Highways workers.
