Marks and Spencer staff support their local hospice
Hospiscare were delighted to receive a cheque of £7,000 from Marks and Spencer in Exeter.
Members of the Fundraising Committee at M&S on Exeter High Street have been working hard all year to raise funds for the local hospice which has been their nominated charity of the year.
The Fundraising Committee is made up of various staff members who have organised cake and flower stalls, a charity football match and various raffle draws through out the year. Staff across the store have got involved, including Leon Bolt who took part in Hospiscare’s Men’s Walk. Leon enjoyed the walk, pint and pasty and is still collecting in sponsorship which will raise Marks and Spencer’s fundraising total even further.
Adrienne Kightley Store Coach and Chair of the Fundraising Committee said: ‘’Hospiscare has been a really worthy store charity for Exeter as it has affected many of our colleagues through losing friends or family and people have been willing to donate.’’
Corporate Fundraiser Catherine Rawlinson said: ‘’Marks and Spencer have been raised a fantastic sum for Hospiscare and should be proud of what they have achieved over the year. The money raised will allow us to support patients and their families across Exeter, mid and east Devon and we look forward to working with Marks and Spencer and other retail shops in the future.’’
