Ballet Black - A Dream Within a Midsummer Night’s Dream

Cassa Pancho's award-winning Ballet Black is to return to the Exeter Northcott Theatre for the fourth time as they celebrate the talents of black and Asian dancers from around the world. Founded in 2001 Ballet Black has achieved great success and garnered numerous awards, including the 2012 Critics Circle National Dance Award for Best Independent Company.

For their return to Exeter Northcott Theatre, the Company are delighted to present a triple bill of new work with exciting ballets from two of Britain's best choreographers, Christopher Marney (Gothenburg Ballet, New Adventures) and Martin Lawrance (Richard Alston Dance Company). Award-winning dance maker Arthur Pita (God's Garden, Showboat, The Metamorphosis) creates Ballet Black's newest narrative ballet.

“Ballet Black's dancers are assured and polished throughout.” THE INDEPENDENT

“This is repertory that any large company would be happy to own. And the heroic Ballet Black have managed it on a shoestring.” THE GUARDIAN
