Art is where the home is at Exeter development
This bank holiday weekend, works by top artists, including rock legend Ronnie Wood, move into an Exeter development with the help of a local art gallery.
Castle Galleries, Exeter, on Cathedral Yard has joined forces with Linden Homes to create a pop up exhibition at the City Glade development off Topsham Road.
Until Monday 26 May, the showroom will showcase an array of artists from the likes of Paul Kenton, who creates beautiful and striking cityscapes, to Caroline Shotton, who’s famed for her fun and colourful bovine art, which includes pieces such as ‘Spider-moo’. This is in addition to limited edition prints from Raw Instinct, Ronnie Wood’s art collection.
Selina Cassidy, an Art Advisor at Castle Galleries, Exeter, said: “It’s very exciting looking for a new house but part of the fun is deciding on what’s going to make it a home, what the floors are going to look like and what art you’re going to put on the walls to make it your own.”
Brian Deacon, sales and marketing director for Linden Homes, added: “Exeter has a strong arts scene so our art exhibition with Castle Galleries is a really exciting idea. The event gives our residents and the local community an opportunity to view some beautiful art, they will be able to buy the pieces and see our stunning show home – so it provides plenty of ideas on how they can decorate and furnish their new home.”
