Byron, the proper hamburger specialists, will open their first South West restaurant in Princesshay, Exeter on Friday (13 June).

The restaurant serves classic hamburgers, including a regularly-changing special, plus sides, salads and desserts, including vegetarian options, a children’s menu and takeaway.

Tom Byng, Byron’s founder, said: “We’re excited to be opening in Exeter in a great location right at the heart of the city, and I hope local fans of proper hamburgers feel the same.”

Byron was founded by Tom Byng in 2007 when he felt there was a gap in the market for proper hamburgers, made as they should be.

The group sources quality beef from Scotland, and also has restaurants in London, Cambridge, Liverpool, Oxford, Manchester and York.

Wayne Pearce, Princesshay Centre Director said: “Burgers are extremely popular and the new restaurant offers something different for the centre.

"Our relaxed atmosphere has provided the ideal setting for Byron.

"We’re looking forward to sampling the menu over the coming weeks and wish the restaurant well with its official opening on Friday 13 June.”
