Tom Baxeter
Tom Baxter’s first two albums Feather & Stone and Skybound gained him huge critical acclaim, and 2014 sees him embarking on a solo national tour to support the launch of his new recording The Uncarved Block – an album written in such far-flung locations as India, Spain and California, and only available at Tom’s heart-stopping, electrifying gigs.
In the ten years since the release of his debut album, Tom has enjoyed a string of popular successes and accolades… his song Miracle was used extensively by the BBC during their 2012 Olympics coverage; Almost There was covered by the legendary Dame Shirley Bassey as the opening track of her album The Performance; and his anthemic modern standard Better even found its way onto the soundtrack of smash Hollywood comedy Run Fatboy Run – as well as providing a chart hit for Boyzone!
In recent years Tom has been travelling, rediscovering his passion for painting and writing, and cultivating his ongoing love of the guitar. And all of these experiences find their way onto the songs of The Uncarved Block. Join him at Exeter Phoenix for a perfect, hear-a-pin-drop night of live music, and discover why the likes of Gary Barlow, Rufus Wainwright and even Tom Waits have all tipped their hats in his direction.
