Scouts, Cubs and Beavers deliver your Christmas mail
Scouts, Cubs and Beavers from packs across Exeter, as well as in surrounding areas such as Budleigh Salterton, Woodbury and Exminster, braved the rain this morning to deliver the Scouts Christmas Post.
The Christmas post raises money for both local Scouting and the Children's Hospice South West and organisers are hopeful that this year will have been a bumper year, with almost 30,000 Christmas cards being posted at locations across the city and East Devon.
"With a card costing only 25p - half the price of a second-class stamp - it is no wonder that so many local people opted for the Scout post this year and we are very grateful to everyone for trusting us to deliver their precious Christmas greetings," said Catherine Fraser, secretary of the 7th Exeter Scout Group.
"The boys and girls have all really enjoyed sorting and stamping the mail at Scout HQ, then going out in their local areas to deliver it. The Exeter and East Devon Scouts are very proud of everyone involved and are delighted to have raised so much money for our local packs as well as the Children's Hospice. We hope even more people will use our service next year."
