Exeter hotel's fitness device is a first
A pioneering fitness device which has received global acclamation is being debuted at an Exeter health and fitness club.
The MYZONE® chest strap and monitoring system has been introduced to the Mercure Exeter Southgate Hotel this week, meaning residents and gym members can track their fitness goals more effectively than ever before.
The strap is the only exercise tracking system in the world that is able to provide real-time feedback of workout intensity as well as wirelessly uploading the data that has been stored.
Manager of the hotel’s Spa Naturel Fitness, Steve Forbes, said: “It is really exciting to have MYZONE® at the Southgate. It is market leader in the health and fitness industry and so far we are one of only 100 venues in the country to have it. We are also the first in Exeter.
“It’s no secret that if you put in the effort required you’ll get the results you want. MYZONE® will help keep you motivated by offering truly accurate tracking of your effort levels. Not only will you have a better chance of achieving your goals you will also be rewarded through social media, earning prizes and climbing status rankings. It’s all about making working out fun but ultimately engaging, to help keep you on track.”
MYZONE® transmits heart rate, calories and effort in real time to a live display and wirelessly uploads that data to a logbook that can be accessed online or through the free MYZONE® Lite App.
It collects data to the benefit of physical activity stakeholders and enables health and fitness professionals to stay connected with their users.
Tamsyn Parsons, sales manager at the hotel, said: “We are really excited about the launch of MYZONE® as it really complements what we already have to offer at our health club. MYZONE® is not just about working out, its main aim is for everyone to achieve and maintain a healthy lifestyle, which is core to Spa Naturel Fitness club ethos.”
