Pavey Group celebrates Exeter milestone
A Devon-based insurance and financial services company is celebrating its Exeter 10th anniversary.
Pavey Group opened its Exeter office at Pynes Hill Business Park in 2005, with just one employee and one client, expanding from its Torquay base.
Today the firm has a team of 31 people in the city and more than 2500 clients, having moved to offices at Peninsula Park on Rydon Lane in 2012.
Geoff Gale, Pavey Group Director, is Head of the Exeter office. He said: “That very first client – and still a significant and valued client today – was the National Trust. From there, we have expanded the range of services we provide. Our growth is testament to what we offer businesses, the great work of the team and the strong relationships we have developed with our clients.
“At the heart of our approach is making sure we do the very best for every single one of our clients, providing an honest and professional approach and an excellent client service. Whilst recognised nationally for the work we do, we see ourselves very much as being part of the fabric of the local business community.”
Pavey Group provides independent insurance and financial advice to businesses, individuals and families across Devon, the South West and the UK. Clients range from local companies such as KandyToys, Glendinning and Exeter Golf and Country Club, to farming cooperative, Mole Valley Farmers and UK wide organisations including the National Trust.
Gillian Hall, Insurance Business Partner at the National Trust, said: “Our insurance requirements are often complex, as we look after over 300 historic buildings, employ more than 5,500 people and are supported by thousands of volunteers. We value the support, professionalism and technical knowledge of the dedicated team at Pavey Group, who handle all our general enquiries and claims.
David Kirkby, Managing Director of client KandyToys, on Hill Barton Business Park in Exeter, said: “Even with their exceptional expansion over the years, we still receive the same personal and friendly service that we would expect from a small local business.
“Pavey Group are very trustworthy and professional and we can be confident that any insurance issues that we have are dealt with promptly and correctly. Congratulations on an impressive ten years and here’s to many more.”
Barry Wilson, Managing Director of client Glendinning, which has sites across Devon and Cornwall, said: Pavey Group offers national knowledge at a regional level that ensures a great service. They are a team of professionals who understand our business and our values, which makes for a solid and constructive relationship. Their claims handling means we can concentrate on our business in the knowledge that matters are being dealt with thoroughly.”
Pavey Group is a major supporter of Exeter Leukaemia Fund’s Community Transport Service, helping to ensure hundreds of people every month can travel to and from the Haematology Unit at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.
The company is also a longstanding sponsor of the Express and Echo Business Awards, celebrating the success of local business, and supports events including the Exeter Festival of South West Food and Drink.
Last Friday, over a hundred clients attended a reception to celebrate the company’s 10 year anniversary at Exeter Castle, as part of Pavey Group’s support of this year’s festival, which included sponsorship of the ‘After Dark Music Concerts’. Chef Michael Caines MBE spoke at the reception, which also saw demonstrations from River Cottage chefs and a presentation and wine tasting with Pebblebed Vineyards.
Recognised as a Top 100 Independent Broker nationally, last month the company completed the purchase of local broker Buddens Westinsure, and also acquired the commercial insurance business of R K Shipman in 2010, as part of its on-going growth strategy.
Employees at the Exeter office provide advice, service and claims management to a wide range of commercial clients working in sectors to include, construction, manufacturing, retail, wholesale, professional services, motor traders, property owners and charitable organisations.
In addition to dedicated teams for business, personal and claims, the Exeter office also offers clients independent financial advice, including personal financial planning, business protection and workplace pensions.
Established in Torbay over 40 years ago, Pavey Group employs 90 people across its Exeter and Torquay sites.
