Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service is opening its doors to the public for a family open day on Saturday 5 September.

Everyone is welcome to come along to learn more about the work of firefighters and how they can make their homes safer.

The event will be held at Service Headquarters, near Exeter, on Saturday 5 September, 10am-4pm. Funds will be raised for Hospiscare Exmouth & Lympstone and the Fire Fighters Charity.

There will be lots to see and do, including:

• safety advice and demonstrations
• BBQ
• Blaze Bear
• face painting
• brigade band
• vintage fire engine
• climbing wall
• Fireman Sam shop
• bouncy castle
• birds of prey
• Bah! Humbug! Sweets
