Share your RWC experience with the world

Exeter’s Royal Albert Memorial Museum (RAMM) is inviting everyone to join in the city’s Rugby World Cup celebrations and share their photos online at www.engageproject.co.uk.

It’s not just about the match and it’s not just hard-core Rugby fans that can take part. With six themed albums that revellers can add to, everyone’s celebratory photos have a place to go: Watching the Match; It’s a Fan Thing; Match Food; Hope; Winning and Losing and Unite. Coordinator Kate Green, community artist & photographer, said “The media will show the matches and the players. I want us to add some colour and character by telling our stories of the tournament."

Funded by Rugby World Cup 2015 Legacy Communities Programme, the ENGAGE website also has photos of local teams taken during photography workshops.

RAMM contribution to the City Council’s programme of events also includes a free photographic exhibition and a free display of Tongan art. TOUCH-LINE: A photographic Record of Rugby World Cup 2015, Exeter (19 September to 4 November) shows photos by award-winning photographer Michelle Sank.

The Ways of the Ancestors: The Art of Tonga (to 28 February 2016) celebrates Exeter’s historical links with Tonga and welcomes their national team to the games in Exeter. It includes barkcloth, clubs, tools and souvenirs made from the natural resources that were available to Pacific Islanders some two hundred years ago.
