Funding bids invited to help fight illegal money lending
Groups that help victims of illegal money lenders are being offered the chance to apply for a share of £3,000.
The Home Office illegal money lending team, based in Birmingham, wants organisations in Plymouth to bid for cash to support ideas that promote its work.
The team is looking for ideas that raise awareness of the dangers of using loan sharks, promote legal credit options and good financial management, or prevent crime and disorder linked to illegal money lending.
Once a shortlist is drawn up the people of Plymouth will get the chance to vote for their favourite scheme and four winners will be chosen. Each will receive £750.
Voting will take place between 1pm and 4pm on Wednesday 20th February at St Aubyn Library, Chapel Street, Devonport. A buffet lunch will be provided.
