A morning visit to Broadsands, hoping to see grebes and divers if the weather is favourable, plus winter visitors and the local Cirl Buntings. The trees at Broadsands can also be a good place to see Goldcrests and warblers including Chiffchaffs and the occasional Yellow-browed Warbler. Car park charge. Toilets on the sea front. Please note: this event is run by an RSPB volunteer group and is organised for interested members of the local community.

Directions Meet at Broadsands car park (SX896572)

About Broadsands: In between Paignton and Brixham is Broadsands on the English Riviera, South Devon’s beautiful bay. With a long sandy beach the whole family can enjoy, you can make sandcastles for a couple of hours and then paddle in the calm sea. There’s also a large area of parkland directly behind the beach, so if you’ve brought a football with you, this is a great place to have a kick around. Type: Sandy with rock pools Access: The car park leads straight on to the long level promenade, access to the beach however is not easy, via steps with handrails. Beach wheelchair available. Disabled toilet facilities Dogs: Banned during the summer season. There is a dog (on leads) exercise area on the green behind the beach.
