Exeter Cleaning Company has announced that, this year, it carried out the the largest number of cleans of private student lets in its history. Almost 10% of all returning Exeter University students this year came back to accommodation cleaned by the Exeter business.

Every year the standards expected by university students increase and students from overseas have shown a particular desire for the highest quality accommodation and service standards. This has led to more and more private landlords and organisations turning to the professional cleaners at the Exeter Cleaning Company who are more usually associated with the city’s office, retail shop and top-end restaurant, pub and leisure venues.

Mark Walker, Director of Exeter Cleaning, commented: “This has been a bumper year for student let cleaning. The standard of accommodation in Exeter is extremely high and the students, who are paying a good price for that accommodation, expect it to be in top condition when they get back to their studies each year.

“We saw increasing numbers of enquiries in the student let sector this year because landlords understand what their student tenants expect - and it’s not like the Young Ones any more! We have clients who run top end hotels and restaurants and our student let landlord clients now want the same level of cleaning as those clients - and rightly so because they are providing some very high quality accommodation.

"We are also noticing that landlords are getting their requests in early to ensure that they get their cleaning done by the best cleaners. The student cleaning season used to be much shorter but, with the significant increase in student numbers, this is not the case any more.

“Our teams of cleaners went to hundreds and hundreds of Exeter student lets over the summer months and we are proud to have been part of improving the student experience in Exeter, making it one of the most desirable places for people wanting to study in the country.”
