Police search for weapons following Exeter attack

Searches continue in an attempt to locate the weapons possibly used in an attack in Exeter on Wednesday.

Officers were called to a property in the area of Lower Summerlands and Clifton Road at 1.10am on Wednesday 6 April.

A man, who is not from the local area, was found with serious injuries which were described as life-threatening.

The victim of the attack currently remains in hospital and his condition is now described as stable and conscious.

A man in his 40s is currently in police custody and awaits questioning in connection with this incident.

Detective Inspector Ian Ringrose, said: “We believe that knives and weapons were used during this attack, and police searches are now taking place in the area.

“If any member of the public discovers a knife, weapon, or anything suspicious that appears to have been discarded in or around the Newton and Clifton area of Exeter, we ask that you do not touch it, and immediately contact the police.

“We are also wish to locating a man who was seen in the area during the time of the attack. He is describes as in his late teens and may have a head injury; he could hold information vital to this case.”
