Halsall has expanded its South West reach with the opening of a new office at Exeter Business Park.

The company, which delivers construction services throughout the region across the residential, education, health and commercial sectors, will use the new office initially as Centre of Operations for residential construction and development in the Devon, Cornwall and South Somerset region.

The opening of the new office coincides with the appointment of Patrick Kneafsey as Operations Manager who will lead Halsall’s operations team throughout Devon and Cornwall. Previously Head of Construction for Persimmon Homes, Patrick joins following the retirement of Colin Smethurst and brings over 20 years housebuilding experience.

The Exeter base responds to a period of positive growth that sees the business on course to achieve turnover of £34m for 2015/16. The decision allows the company to more effectively manage current and future projects in the region, and strengthen its brand with customers and the local supply chain.

Speaking about the opening of the new office, Managing Director Andy Corp said “Halsall has been successfully operating in the Devon and Cornwall markets for some time. However, our significant increase in activity across the region has affirmed our desire to open a regional office to better support projects, grow the business and raise our profile. A key driver has been the importance of developing stronger relationships with the local supply chain, clients and key stakeholders, as well as reducing the amount of time our team spend travelling to and from our Bath head office.

“The new Exeter office will allow us to grow both our portfolio of work and our local team, and shows our commitment to the region and the potential we see there. I am pleased to welcome Patrick Kneafsey to Halsall at a time of strong growth, particularly in Devon and Cornwall for which Patrick will be responsible. He brings proven skills that will strengthen the company’s growing reputation of a provider of quality new homes.”

Halsall has a number of residential schemes under development and has built a strong reputation as a quality builder of homes for both affordable and open market tenures. Current projects include a 26 home development in East Taphouse, Cornwall; 24 homes at Exeter Road, Cullompton; and 21 new homes at Bovey Tracey, Devon. The company also has a strong secured pipeline of development land which it is actively bringing forward.

To celebrate the opening of the new office, staff from Halsall organised a charity cycle ride from the new office to Torquay and raised an impressive £1,000 for Target Ovarian Cancer, the company’s nominated charity.
