Mum2mum market comes to Exeter
Mum2mum market nearly new sales has been a haven for cash strapped parents in London and the South East and now local mum Joanne Jones is bringing it to Exeter
The market provides an opportunity for parents to make money selling their outgrown baby clothes and equipment to other families. All goods for sale must be in excellent condition and sellers keep 100% of their proceeds on the day.
Buyers can make serious savings at their local Mum2mum market. Large items like designer prams and nursery furniture sell for about one third of their retail price whereas baby and children’s clothes start at just 50p.
These events are held at indoor venues and there are at least 20 mums selling a huge range of baby and children’s goods ranging from newborn to the age of 6. These sales draw a large crowd with buyers queuing up to half an hour before the sale starts to get the best bargains.
Mum2mum market started in 2011 by busy mum of 2 Cath Harrop after many frustrating experiences buying and selling on Ebay and car boot sales. Cath says “ I found Ebay frustrating as a buyer and expensive as a seller and buying a pushchair that turned up filthy and broken was the final straw. I was convinced there must be a better way and mum2mum market was born!”
Since then the business has grown considerably, and Cath now has a network of local mums running their own Mum2mum markets across the UK.
Local mum of 2 Joanne Jones will be launching Mum2mum market in Exeter and expanding to the local areas.
Joanne says “I sore Mum2mum market on Dragons Den and thought it was an excellent idea and something I was really keen to be involved with, as I know it’s something as a mum myself that would really benefit the community. I’m so excited to be giving local parents the opportunity to buy quality second hand goods or make money from their children’s outgrown things.
